About Our Company
Ocean Power & Equipment Co. was established in April of 1990 by Dick Russell, whose entire career has been in the marine industry. After graduating from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY, he sailed as a USCG-licensed engineer on U.S. merchant vessels for a few years, then came ashore and embarked on a sales career representing well-known manufacturers of marine equipment.
Other key members of the Ocean Power team are Richie Russell and Chris Bergmann. Richie graduated from Villanova University and Chris from University of Scranton, both with degrees in Marketing. They worked for different advertising agencies in New York City before joining Ocean Power 15 years ago. Both share responsibilities of sales, marketing, after-market support and contract administration.
